Hockey North America - Wash DC / Rockville, Spring League 2013.
Spring League is now available for registration. A charge of $500 is for a team Deposit (with timely payment full team price is $4800 - deposit is applied towards the balance). Registration is by Team Fee only. Any individual payments called in will be applied to the team fee owed.
Winter league will end in March, early April so Spring League will be an excellent way to keep playing some fun games. Good ice times at the Rockville & Cabin John Arenas.
League Features, at least 11 games.

Here are the playoff allocations for the 2012-13 Winter League Playoffs. Note that any sub players must have at least 7 regular season games with the team in order to skate. You may not use any non HNA / non league or unapproved players in any game. To be considered for playoff participation the team must be fully paid, including all player & open roster spots.
Division A - 2 teams
Division B1 - 2 teams
Division B2 - 4 teams
Division B3 - 4 teams
Division C1 - 3 teams
Division C2 - 3 teams
Division C3 - 5 teams
Division D1 - 5 teams

WASH DC - Important Upcoming Dates |

Intermediate Players & Team Please Note The Following:
December 31 is the last day to make changes to your playing roster. After that date the rosters will be frozen until the completion of the playoffs.
01/15 - Jersey Compliance. Starting January 15th, the on ice officials will be enforcing Jersey compliance rules. All Forwards & Defensive players must have a team jersey. A team jersey is the same style jersey, team logo on front, a unique number attached to the back. Players not in compliance will be removed until corrected.
Use of Subs: The use of reserve players, which is restricted to teams that registered via the Team Fee Payment schedule, must participate in at least 7 regular season games in order to be considered playoff eligible.
Penalty Plateaus: HNA uses a penalty plateau system of 50-70-90. Players that reach 50 PM will sit 1 one game. Players that reach 70 PM will sit an additional 2 games. Players that reach 90 PM will sit an additional 3 games and will have their continued playing privileges reviewed. The suspensions associated with these plateaus are not subject to appeal.
Playoff Shootouts: HNA in DC uses a shootout system to determine tied playoff games. More information about this format will be distributed prior to the start of playoffs. |

Click on "Leagues" at the top of this page, and then select "Register a Player." Please note that you can by using Visa, MC, Discover or E-Check. Charges are processed by PAYPAL and will appear on your statement as "HNA Lg Fees."

Overall HNA DC played 60 playoff games. 11 Shootouts (2 in the final game), 4 OT (1 in the final game), 24 one goal games, 15 two goal games. C3 division - 10 of the 13 games decided by 1 goal, 4 shootouts and 2 OT victories (6 of 13 games were OT).

DC Playoff Notes From HNA DC Administrator Mike Schick
The playoff OT rules are a 5 min stop time OT and then a 5 player shootout. If after 5 shooters, the shootout is still tied after 5 players, the same 5 players will repeat in a sudden death format.
These are also time permitting. If short on time OT could go running clock before a shootout, or possibly go directly to the shootout. A few times last season I checked with the rink staff if we were running long on time to make sure we could run the full 5 min and OT and shootout. A few times we did running clock before a shootout and I believe once did a 3 player shootout since we were going over the time limit.
If we run out of time and there isn't a resolution in the OT or Shootout, the higher seed will get the win. |

WASH - Jersey Enforcement Begins 1/3 |

Jersey enforcement will begin starting with the 1/3 games. Every player must have a team jersey of similar style & color, with team logo attached on front, a unique number attached on back. Due to the nature of the position a goaltender does not have to have a team jersey (due to the possibility of a sub).
if a skaters forgets his shirt he may use the goaltender's shirt that night (if available) so long as a notation is made on the roster. A skater out of uniform is to be removed from play by the referees until corrected, at which time the player may resume skating. Once a player is removed an official may ask for identification of the player, which the player must provide. |
